SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A Sacramento-area boy allegedly abducted by his father has been found safe in Romania following following an Amber Alert, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said Thursday.Authorities said 3-year-old Alexsandr Olteanu and his father, David Olteanu, were tracked to Bucharest using an airline flight manifest.Police activated the Amber Alert system on Wednesday.David Olteanu, 28, has been detained by Romanian officials, sheriff's Sgt. Tim Curran said.At about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 28-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted and bound by David Olteanu, the alleged victim's estranged husband. But it wasn't until five hours later that the California Highway Patrol issued the Amber Alert.Curran said the investigation was hampered because the boy's mother and other relatives were not very cooperative with police. He said investigators eventually found out that David Olteanu went to Oroville, collected weapons and then threatened to take the child out of the country."That's when it ultimately rose to the level of meeting the criteria for an Amber Alert," Curran said.As part of the alert, authorities issued details via local media and on local roadside signs.
